The Beara Way walking route passes by the house. The immediate area is very beautiful, rich in archeological remains (Bronze age structures), wildlife, and mountain walks. Adrigole harbour (4km distant) is safe location for swimming, boating and sea fishing. Day trips to the copper mines at Allihies, Dursey Island cable car, and the Buddhist centre at Dzogchen Beara are all within easy reach.

It was built in 2004. The construction is of 7cm pine planks fitted together on a concrete foundation. The kit was imported from Estonia and assembled by a local carpenter.
