The lure of West Cork property continues to defy upturns, downturns or whatever trends there are out there on the high turbulent seas of international finance. The solid value of property in West Cork stems, as I’ve said many times before, not from such movements but from the unending draw towards this beautiful corner of the world.

One of the latest to fall under its spell is musician Jeff Martin. Living near Durrus for the last year and a half, this accomplished, talented, bona fide Canadian rock star has managed to slip right into the slower pace of life down here with his wife and young child.

Here he is in action last month in Australia. Although he’s now rooted here in his “kingdom”, he still does some touring and is going spend much of next month in Norway.
