Opening Day for New Property in Kilcrohane, Sheep's Head Peninsula

Saturday was the grand opening for a new property development in Kilcrohane, Sheep’s Head Peninsula. The new “Ascal Mara” development is located on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal village and attracted a huge crowd of locals and interested parties from further afield.
All the properties here have stunning views of the sea, something which came as a mild surprise, even to some locals. The location of the site isn’t particularly high, so many thought that there would be no views, or even limited views of Dunmanus Bay, but even though the day was dull, it was clear to see that the sea was clearly visible.
There’s always, generally speaking anyway, a good enough choice of property available on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula, and there have been a couple of more nice developments in Kilcrohane itself that have attracted plenty of attention. But, the “Ascal Mara” development has been done differently: This is without a doubt the highest quality finish of a new home that has come on the market on the Sheep’s Head for as far back as I can remember. On the face of it, this may sound like a lofty assertion, but it’s a testimony that has been borne out by the many visitors to the show house on Saturday. The official kick-off time was 12 midday, but people began to arrive at 11:40. The official closing time was 5pm, but people kept coming until 6, when the exhausted team in the hospitality marquee and the dry-throated sales staff, along with the building team and all other important contributors to this project, finally got a chance to unwind at Eileen’s legendary public house, before rounding off the evening at one of the best success stories in these parts – the Kilcrohane Wine Bar.
